AGENTIC AI FRAMEWORK UPDATE: A PROACTIVE APPROACH
Singapore has proactively updated its governance framework for agentic AI, building upon the 2020 Model AI Governance Framework. This updated framework, spearheaded by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), reflects a commitment to responsible AI deployment and addresses emerging risks associated with agentic AI systems. The update incorporates feedback from over 60 organizations, including major tech players like AWS, DBS, Google, and Salesforce.

RISK MITIGATION AND CASE STUDY IMPLEMENTATION
The revised framework specifically addresses risks related to multi-agent systems, third-party agents, automation bias, and human accountability. Crucially, it includes more than ten detailed case studies showcasing how organizations are applying the framework’s recommendations in practice. These case studies provide valuable insights and best practices for navigating the complexities of agentic AI deployment.

CASE STUDY 1: DAYOS – AI-POWERED TICKETING AUTOMATION
A prominent case study is provided by Dayos, a Singapore-based enterprise AI automation company. Dayos developed an AI-powered ticketing agent to handle internal IT requests. The agent’s capabilities are tiered based on risk levels, with low-risk actions like password resets automated and regularly audited, while moderate-risk actions require human approval. Higher-risk actions are entirely excluded, demonstrating a robust approach to risk management.

CASE STUDY 2: TENCENT’S CODEBUDDY – AGENTIC AI CODING SYSTEM
Tencent’s CodeBuddy, an agentic AI coding system developed by Tencent Cloud, offers another valuable case study. CodeBuddy can generate code based on natural language instructions, accessing filesystems, terminal commands, and external APIs. Like Dayos, it utilizes preset defaults and configurable permissions, with human approval required for potentially risky actions such as file editing or network requests. The system's explanations of complex commands further enhance user understanding and control.

CASE STUDY 3: GOVTECH SINGAPORE – AGENTIC CODING ASSISTANTS IN GOVERNMENT
GovTech Singapore’s case study focuses on the rollout of agentic coding assistants within the government. Initially limited to GovTech employees and restricted to low-risk systems without external tool access, the project established central logging and a framework for connecting approved external tools. Rigorous testing against potential attacks demonstrated the framework's effectiveness and laid the groundwork for wider adoption.
