NEW ELECTRIC MODEL LINEUP
Polestar is embarking on a significant expansion of its electric vehicle lineup over the next three years, introducing four new models designed to broaden its appeal and solidify its position within the premium EV market. This strategic move, spearheaded by the Swedish automaker’s parent company, Geely, aims to capitalize on growing consumer demand for electric vehicles while simultaneously addressing recent financial challenges. The company’s roadmap includes a new SUV, a revised Polestar 2 sedan, and the highly anticipated Polestar 5 grand tourer, alongside a long-roof variant of the Polestar 4. This diversified approach reflects Polestar’s commitment to innovation and responsiveness to evolving market trends.

POLSTAR 5 AND POLSTAR 4 UPDATES
The Polestar 5, slated for initial deliveries this summer, represents the company's flagship model and a key component of its halo car strategy. This four-door grand tourer is engineered to deliver exceptional performance, boasting a range of 460 miles, an 800-volt architecture enabling ultra-fast charging, and a staggering 884 horsepower. The Performance trim is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds. CEO Michael Longscheller describes the Polestar 5 as “our brand halo car, bringing a new level of performance and luxury to the grand-tourer segment.” Simultaneously, Polestar is significantly updating the Polestar 4, a model already generating discussion due to its absence of a rear windshield. This redesign transforms the Polestar 4 into a long-wheelbase estate car, specifically tailored for European customers who traditionally favor estate cars and SUVs. Longscheller highlights Sweden's reputation for estate cars and its world-class SUVs, emphasizing the Polestar 4's ambition to combine the space and versatility of an estate with the dynamic performance expected of a Polestar vehicle.

NEXT-GENERATION POLSTAR 2 AND NEW SUV
Polestar’s strategy includes a “new successor” to the Polestar 2, currently scheduled for production at the beginning of 2027. Recognizing the importance of its original model in establishing the brand, Polestar is prioritizing a rapid development cycle, working at “record speed” to bring this next-generation vehicle to market. Furthermore, Polestar is planning to release a compact premium SUV, tentatively named the Polestar 7, to compete within the largest EV segment in Europe – compact SUVs. Longscheller expresses confidence in offering a “progressive performance-driven car for a very attractive price point, built in Europe,” indicating a commitment to European manufacturing and affordability. Recent financial results demonstrate the impact of these initiatives, with full-year sales reaching approximately 60,119 cars, a 34 percent increase over 2024, and revenue growing 49 percent to $2.17 billion. Despite these gains, the company reported a significant net loss of $1.558 billion for the first nine months of 2025, highlighting the ongoing need for strategic investments and sales growth to achieve profitability.
